G.E.M.'s debut album has catchy beats and superb music composition. One would not be able to tell from listening to her debut album that she is only 17 years old because her confidence in singing reflects that of someone who is much more mature. so if there are other artists similar to their voices and type of music, PLEASE recommend! haha, i'm kind of getting bored of my music, so i need some help into adding more artists to my music collection. xD) of alan kuo and a-lin, which is probably the closest i'm gonna get to some hard-core chinese rock. i LOVE the hard-core CHINESE rock (since they don't really have heavy-metal. please don't recommend some chinese indie to me or artists with cutesy, not as strong voices (sorry, no offense), but the artists with strong and deep voices really interest me. so i would like to ask which artists do you recommend? i pretty much understand a lot of the chinese music scene but could you maybe recommend some rock (but not indie) type of chinese music? i like the kind of unique strong voices of artists like alan kuo (柯有綸), a-lin (黄麗玲), renee chen (which is not really rock, but she has a good strong voice) (陳嘉唯), and amber guo (郭采潔). Hello, everybody at cpop! i love this community because it offers so many types of music. Both are official debut albums, Liman releasing under Shan Shui Records (famous for gathering together electronic music acts and releasing compilations albums) and IGO releasing under Modern Sky (popular indie record label). If people end up liking this post I'll post some stuff from the other two popular DJ's - one winning "The Best Electronic Album" and the other having participated in game soundtracks. So I'm sharing two of those artists today. Not that I know anything about DJ-ing itself, but described many times - there is really not much to "see" when these acts are performing, one man mixing on the decks, another playing around on the keyboard - but each act has gained it's own fans based on each act's unique sounds, and the clubs they frequent. Right now, popular DJ's include Liman (consider one of the veterans), B6, Dead J and Sulumi. Electronica, techno and trance have been growing genres across the world, and China is no different. I also had this post up a few days ago, it's locked so please join to view.
